2017

Do I need to bring a tent?
Yes, if you purchase an Event Ticket or a Golden Event Ticket you will need to bring a tent or swag and bedding. Tent hire is only included if you purchase the Lazy Camper ticket, additional to your event tickets. Everyone will need a low chair/blow up chair to sit on for the cinema. Campers who bring high or normal height camping chairs will have to sit to the rear of the cinema area, so everyone can see! You can choose not to stay the night and will have access to your car, however ticket pricing does not change.
Can I bring food and alcohol to the HMC?
You are not permitted to bring any alcohol into the campground or event, all cars will be checked at entry and if found, you will be refused entry. There will be bar facilities serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from 2pm-12midnight.
You may bring food into the campground and event, please no hard box esky's or cooking equipment. There will be a variety of food vendors to cater for all patrons and dietary requirements.
Should I dress up?
YES, you will regret it if you don't! HMC is a great opportunity to get creative with face paint, masks, fake blood and horror attire. Almost all campers come in costume and character which creates an awesome atmosphere at the event. Check out the facebook page for past event pics for inspiration. Please no weapons or lawn mowers.
No dickhead policy
HMC is a fun, relaxed event and the last thing anyone wants to deal with is a "dickhead"!. Although the event is monitored with security guards, we have also implemented the "no dickhead" policy to keep the peace if needed.
This is a self-policing policy, where in the event that someone slips up momentarily, a solid citizen will quietly and politely point out that their behaviour fits into the "Dickhead" category, and that will be the end of it. If someone chooses not to listen to the solid citizen and acts like a real dickhead, they will spend the rest of the event sitting next to a security guard or dealing with police and will be prohibited from buying a ticket to future events.
What movies will be showing at the HMC?
Through partnerships with major movie distribution companies across the globe, HMC brings you a variety of the most terrifying and unique horror titles to hit the film industry. A range of movies are selected and carefully scrutinised by our board of horror buffs by which a shortlist is formed. Then it is up to YOU to determine what films are played at each event! HMC is stepping away from the mainstream Hollywood films you have seen a thousand times, and bringing you intense, edge of your seat horror entertainment.
To accompany these films is also a range of short horror flicks also selected by the horror buffs........ Please note: they take their job VERY seriously!
Where will the HMC be held?
HORROR campout's are held in unique locations just 1 hour from the city. The locations for each State are revealed closer to the event.
What time does the HMC start and finish?

Weather policy

Parking at HMC
Parking is free for the camping, parking area. However, in the interests of a better camping experience and to help manage space better, we’ve adopted the method used by legendary music festivals around the globe, such as Glastonbury and Roskilde, where there are no cars within the campgrounds. In saying this, there is an allocated space for parking with a capacity so we strongly recommend and encourage car-pooling.
Is there power and running water available?
There will be no power available, make sure your phone and camera are charged before you arrive. There will be scare actors walking around the event and some great photo (Selfie) opportunities.
There are no shower facilties at the HMC, however toilets will be provided. Its a good idea to bring some bottled water - closed bottled water is allowed in to the event. Drinking water will be available for free in the event and campground.
Is there phone coverage in case I need to ring my mummy?
Yes, there is mobile phone coverage at most sites, but might be limited.
